1) The issue of violence at Virginia Tech is awful, my thoughts and prayers are with members of the Virginia Tech community and all affected.  This is evidence that some changes in gun control are needed; it is unfair for a university to have to deal with such violence in 2007 and now.  

2) The US Senate Republicans are simply being obstructionists by blocking the passage of the payroll tax cut and by blocking the appointment of Ohioan Richard Cordray to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  They are being political and blocking what is necessary.

3) The EPA released a statement today that fracking has been linked to contaminated water.  Seriously… duh. Scientists and geologists have been saying that for a while.  

4) I’m not even going to begin to touch the Rick Perry ad on Obama’s war on religion. This ad was offensive and completely ignored everything our Constitution stands for. The fact that people listen to him is actually terrifying.
